All About Egret Moon: The Grooviest Little Shop In the World

In the year 2000, Megan McCook opened an awesome little shop called Egret Moon. Megan started with her own amazing paintings and baskets and some good vibes, and she turned a dream to support herself and her boys while creating art, into a reality. Egret Moon started out on Cleveland Street with a small shop space and an awesome little garden full of ivy and sunflowers and soul! Over the years more and more artists became involved and Egret Moon became a key destination for visitors to Chincoteague. In 2013, Megan sold the shop to me, Jamie Thompson!

I've loved Egret Moon since I first stepped through the doors in 2003. I've been blessed to be involved with Egret Moon for nearly four years. The garden is one of the first places that I ever played music and sang, and the shop is the only storefront that I've ever sold my art out of. Now to own Egret Moon and to have the opportunity to keep Megan's vision alive and to support my own children while I create art, is really a dream come true!

We are in our second season in our new Main Street location right next to the historical Island Theater. Egret Moon offers unique art, jewelry, and gifts created by over 35 local artists. But Egret Moon isn't only about the art. If you have stepped through the door, you already know that Egret Moon is about love, peaceful vibes, fun, community, and friends! The Moon is a placid, healing waypoint in a crazy, fastpaced world!

I hope that you can all stop in, sit on the couch, sign the floor, share a laugh and a cup of tea, and admire the artistry inspired by all this local beauty! But in the meantime, please enjoy and frequent this little online shop which brings the essence of Egret Moon right to your living room. Your support keeps our dream alive and ensures that Egret Moon will be a Chincoteague destination for years to come! Peace be with you all... and for goodness sake, Live Funky!
